Shuttle logistics can be the most complicated part of your expedition.  While PRO offers the simplest and best option for most trips (let us move the people and gear to and from the river), you may have people who want variations on basic transport.  Here we refer you to other resources for the relocation of people, cars, and gear, and for car storage.  In most cases, you are responsible for making these arrangements; a few exceptions are noted below.

Individual Vehicle Shuttles – Flagstaff – Lees Ferry – Peach Springs – Pearce Ferry – South Rim

PRO sub-contracts with River Runner’s Shuttle Service for individual vehicle shuttles – we can add the service to your PRO invoice, or you can make arrangements yourself.  They will shuttle vehicles from Lee’s Ferry to Flagstaff, Peach Springs, the South Rim or Pearce Ferry, or from Flagstaff to Peach Springs, the South Rim or South Cove. 

 

People Shuttles – Phoenix – Flagstaff – South Rim

Groome Transportation (928-350-8466) offers several van shuttles a day from the Phoenix Airport to the Flagstaff Railroad Station, and to Maswik Lodge on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon (near the Bright Angel Trailhead).  This service is especially useful to folks who are hiking in or out from a river trip at Phantom Ranch.

 

Car Storage in Flagstaff

Some hotels in Flagstaff will allow you to leave vehicles in their parking lot when you are staying with them before and after the trip – check with your hotel to confirm this is possible.

If you choose to store your vehicle at a storage lot, when PRO is doing your put-in shuttle, we can caravan from your pickup location to the car storage lot of your choice, drop off the vehicles, and then continue on to Lee’s Ferry.  The cost of vehicle storage will vary depending on the lot and duration.  Payment is usually due in cash or check on drop-off and you will need to sign a waiver.  We recommend that you bring a spare set of keys with you on the water, just in case.

Car Storage at Lee’s Ferry

The GCNP’s Long Term Lot is free and is located within an easy walk of the launch ramp.  It is not fenced or patrolled.  Parking is available for the length of your trip.
