Required Equipment

The Park regulations offer a Suggested First Aid items list, but no requirements. Match your first aid kits to your medical expertise.

Minor 1st Aid Kit

Minor first aid kit (one per raft and unsupported kayak, except the one with the major). This is basically an owie kit – band aids and ibuprofen.

Lifejackets

Life Jackets (one per person, plus one spare per 10 people). The rangers are sticklers about these, so bring more than the minimum number in case some are disqualified. Life Jackets may be type III or type V and must be US Coast Guard approved, un-damaged (no threadbare shoulders or broken buckles), and unaltered (no sewing).
